What are the requirements for becoming a Gold Canyon Fragrance Consultant?

As a Gold Canyon Fragrance Consultant, you have the opportunity to develop friendships, to earn a competitive income and to develop professionally. The basic requirements of becoming a Gold Canyon Fragrance Consultant are as follows:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Be a citizen or a permanent resident of the U.S. or a citizen of a U.S. Territory or Canada
• Possess a legitimate Social Security number
• Sign and submit a Consultant Agreement

How do I earn money?

Independent Fragrance Consultants develop successful home-based candle businesses by selling Gold Canyon candle, body and bath products and home decor through home candle Parties and catalog Parties, their personalized e-commerce website and fundraisers as well as by sponsoring others to share Gold Canyon products. How do I get started?

1. Complete a Consultant Agreement online. You’ll need the last name and six-digit Fragrance Consultant ID of the Fragrance Consultant who shared this information packet with you.
2. Await the arrival of your Business Builder Kit — it is usually shipped within just a few days.
3. Kick off your new career as a Fragrance Consultant by holding your first Gold Canyon Party.
4. Be rewarded in FREE products through Gold Canyon’s Quick Start program.

How long will it take from me to receive my Business Builder Kit?

It will take 5-7 business days to receive your Business Builder Kit in the mail. Each Business Builder Kit is shipped via UPS.

Does Gold Canyon offer health insurance?

Through Gold Canyon’s affiliation with the Direct Selling Association (DSA), all active Gold Canyon Fragrance Consultant are eligible to participate in DSA insurance programs. For more information or to request a brochure on the different programs available, call (800) 657-8620 and ask for the DSA Insurance Department.

What is the best way for me to communicate with home office?

Given the dynamic nature of our industry, communication between a Fragrance Consultant and Gold Canyon is critical. Gold Canyon uses Essentials OnLine as its primary method of communication with all Fragrance Consultants. Fragrance Consultants are invited to contact Gold Canyon through e-mail or phone at 1-866-737-8311. Each Fragrance Consultant is encouraged to have these communication capabilities available.

What happens if I do not reach my minimum sales requirement?

Fragrance Consultants must have a minimum of 900 Personal Volume (PV) in a rolling 9-month period in order to remain a Consultant and keep their downline. If they do not meet this requirement in any 9-month period, they will be canceled which causes them to be removed from the company downline organization. Their downline and customers will be compressed to the next upline Consultant who is in good standing, based on the rules as described in the Policies & Procedures.

How will I get paid?

Fragrance Consultants may have their commission payments transferred directly to their account if their monthly commission amount exceeds $10.00. For Fragrance Consultants who prefer to receive their checks by mail, commission checks for override commissions earned during the prior month will be mailed out on approximately the tenth day of the month if the check amount exceeds $10.00.

Can I sell or transfer my Fragrance Consultant business?

Selling or transferring a Fragrance Consultant’s business is not permissible. The Agreement with each Fragrance Consultant is a personal contract to Gold Canyon and may not be transferred by the Fragrance Consultant to a third party.

Do you take taxes out of my commission checks?

Because Fragrance Consultant are considered independent contractors, it is the responsibility of the Fragrance Consultant to pay Social Security tax and any other applicable taxes. Gold Canyon does not deduct any taxes from Fragrance Consultant commission checks. Each year, Gold Canyon will issue an IRS Form 1099 Misc. to each Fragrance Consultant for the prior year’s earnings, provided they have earned at least $600.00 (the lowest amount in annual compensation that must be reported to the IRS) in override commissions, incentives, including trip incentives and other reportable earnings.
